Products in the Fortiva® Hemi family are the first liquefaction enzymes to work on the fiber matrix. The addition of xylanase in Fortiva® HemiX enables unmatched substrate conversion to deliver the highest corn and ethanol oil yield possible. Effective across the broadest range of pH and temperature ranges, HemiX is also the most flexible liquefaction solution available to ethanol producers.

  • Yield increase of >10% versus Fortiva® Revo
  • Increase of up to 1% ethanol yield versus Fortiva® Revo
  • Incorporates xylanase for unmatched substrate conversion
  • Reduces residual crude fat and starch in liquefaction and coproducts
  • Allows plats to run at higher DP4+ and thin stillage solids
  • Variable formulation to match your operational goals
  • Food Grade Certification available

The Fortiva® Hemi suite of alpha amylase products offers a wide range of liquefaction protease blends to meet your specific operational needs.

Product features, details and benefits

Broad product offering

Multiple blends of this product are available to ensure optimal performance, whatever your liquefaction conditions.  The various blends contain activities from thermostable alpha amylase, protease, or other enzymes. To find the right blend for you, please contact your Novonesis representative.

Enhanced yeast performance and process simplicity
Much of the nutrition yeast needs already exists in incoming grains. Thermostable alpha amylases, proteases or other enzymes unlock this nutrition source in liquefaction. That means enhanced yeast performance. It also reduces the costs and complexity associated with adding urea, ammonia or unnecessary, underperforming enzymes to your process.

Food Grade Availability

You may need or prefer Food Grade Certification of liquefaction enzymes for your ethanol production. If so, it's available across this product line.

High conversion efficiency
Any starch not converted to dextrins during liquefaction is a lost opportunity for your plant. These products free and solubilize more starch so you get the most from your liquefaction process. The result is better ethanol production and lower overall residual starch.

Increased yield potential

Corn oil and ethanol yield potential is highest at high-temperature liquefactions in cook. These products contain novel thermostable protease and other enzyme activities. That means they can free more oil and dextrins in liquefaction. The freed oil is then captured in your oil extraction systems. Additional sugars are converted in fermentation for higher ethanol yields.

Operational flexibility
Whatever your liquefaction conditions, starch dextrinization and viscosity reduction are important. These products work across the broadest range of liquefaction temperature and pH ranges.
