Filtration improvements far exceed enzyme cost

Case study: Learn how a brewery reduced filtration time by 30% and saved on filtration aids.

Challenge

Faster filtration, cost-savings on aids

For years, this regional brewery had used a “traditional” beta-glucanase in its process.  It was now looking for a better wort and beer filtration process.

Solution

Ultraflo® Max: Faster filtration, lower costs

Using Novonesis Ultraflo® Max in the mash filter at 200 ppm sped up the filtration process by about 30%. What’s more, the brewer reduced its annual use of filtration aids by 40%.

Although Ultraflo® Max cost more per kg than the brewer’s previous enzyme solution, the benefits far exceeded the expense.
