BAN® 480 LS is an alpha-amylase that rapidly hydrolyzes gelatinized starch, reducing its viscosity. It's suitable for use in maltose production as a processing aid to improve filtration rates and de-hazing of syrups. It can also be used to make high-DE maltodextrins.

Ease of inactivation

To inactivate this product, you just need the right temperature and pH conditions. That makes it ideal for secondary applications where residual alpha-amylase activity is undesirable. These include maltodextrin production.



Viscosity Reduction
High viscosity causes a range of problems in your process. These include channeling through the stirred tanks. Pumps, heat exchangers, jet cookers and agitation all run better at low viscosity. Lower viscosity also allows you to operate at higher levels of dry solids. This product reduces viscosity for smoother processing that's better able to withstand variations.
